Lately I've seen a lot of people recruiting for their guild/alliance but putting a "LF Players with 10k faction" in their spam.

I'd just like to point out the old trick that was used a lot when sigils were expensive back in the early days of Prophecies. People would ask for a few plat when a new person would join. The new person would join and give the plat and then be booted immediately and put on ignore.

There is the same potential for this with faction. Since it's at a premium and a lot of guilds want to get control of outposts/cities at any cost, new players should beware.

1. If you join a guild make sure it's with people you like and hopefully know from playing with them.

2. Never pay for guild membership (in faction or gold).

3. There should be trial period where you get to check the guild out and they get to do the same to you.

4. Don't donate anything to the guild until you are comfortable. Even then I suggest donating in small portions to minimize any potential losses.

Just never join a random guild you've never played with...makes it a lot easier :P
